Founded by Emma Hurlston Tseng, HTD is an independent interior design studio based in Hong Kong, working on residential projects of varying sizes and styles.

Emma's background is in fashion design and fine arts. After beginning her career in London, she moved to Hong Kong, where she headed an international design team and managed the company's Hong Kong office. The role combined creative design with the practicalities of manufacturing, working with factories, managing budgets and meeting production deadlines.

Today, Emma brings this combination of creative experience and practical understanding to her interior design work. Her approach is personal rather than prescriptive, combining existing furniture, artwork and much-loved possessions with carefully chosen new pieces to create interiors with character and individuality.

Working independently on behalf of her clients, Emma provides advice on everything from layouts and finishes to furniture, lighting and the finer details. She works closely with contractors, craftspeople and suppliers, balancing creative ideas with budgets and the practicalities of bringing a project together.
